FMIPA UGM Looks Into Partnership with BOSOWA CORP, Mapping Out Academic-Industry Collaboration Opportunities

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM), welcomed BOSOWA CORP on Sunday (11/10) to look into a strategic partnership between academia and the industry. The meeting was held to work out ways to bridge university expertise with the actual needs and challenges faced by the industrial sector.

This early stage between FMIPA UGM and BOSOWA CORP is geared toward building up sustainable collaborations. The partnership aims to bring about mutual value, focusing on science, research, innovation, and human resource development. These four sectors were thoroughly discussed to line up university potential with corporate demands, both in advancing research and boosting workforce skills.

On the research front, the collaboration intends to draw on the university’s research capacity to solve real-world industrial issues. Meanwhile, the innovation aspect serves to link up scientific breakthroughs with practical applications that address market challenges. Human resource development is another key area being looked at. This aspect pairs up industry workforce demands with the university’s academic capacity to nurture knowledge and competence.

Through this meeting, FMIPA UGM and BOSOWA CORP went over areas of synergy that satisfy both academic goals and industrial needs. The discussions also pointed out how this alliance benefits the public and drives national progress. Furthermore, this university-industry connection ties directly into SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by fostering research sparked by industrial needs. At the same time, the partnership reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by bringing together academic capacity and corporate needs into a single collaborative space.
