FMIPA UGM and Laboratorium Kesehatan Masyarakat (Labkesmas) Sign Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Research Collaboration
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with the Laboratorium Kesehatan Masyarakat (Labkesmas Yogyakarta). The event was held in person at the FMIPA UGM KPTU Meeting Room on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time).
Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., attended the event and welcomed the upcoming collaboration with Labkesmas Yogyakarta. This partnership is expected to be implemented effectively as part of efforts to improve public services.
Chairman of Labkesmas Yogyakarta, dr. Muhammad Budi Hidayat, M.Kes., also presented an overview of Labkesmas, particularly its areas of expertise that are relevant to FMIPA UGM. “We want to continue developing, especially in the fields of science and research. We are pleased to be able to collaborate with FMIPA UGM so that we can create synergies and work together,” said dr. Muhammad Budi Hidayat, M.Kes.
Labkesmas Yogyakarta was represented by five representatives, along with dr. Muhammad Budi Hidayat, M.Kes. In addition to the Dean of FMIPA UGM, the event was also attended by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Nurul Hidayat Aprilita, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Department of Chemistry at FMIPA UGM, and Dr. rer. nat. Adhitasari Suratman, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Undergraduate Chemistry Study Program. Dr. Adhitasari highlighted that the cooperation would open up internship opportunities that could potentially be continued into research activities and method development.
The signing ceremony with Labkesmas Yogyakarta concluded with a joint documentation session involving both parties. Through this initiative, FMIPA UGM also supports the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4, Quality Education, by providing study opportunities that support the development of students and lecturers. The collaboration also contributes to SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening partnerships between FMIPA UGM and industry.
