Coordination of Nyamplung Biofuel Research Program, FMIPA UGM Collaborates with BRIN, PT Abe Indonesia Berjaya, and PT DaFa Teknoagro Mandiri
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) collaborated with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), PT Abe Indonesia Berjaya, and PT DaFa Teknoagro Mandiri through the Nyamplung Biofuel Research Collaboration Center (PKR) program. The coordination meeting was held on August 28, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. local time in a hybrid format at the Multimedia Room of the Department of Chemistry.
Dean of FMIPA UGM, Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., attended the event and delivered opening remarks. Prof. Kuwat expressed his appreciation for the partners’ trust in FMIPA UGM. “Hopefully, this collaboration will create a long-term impact for all parties,” said Prof. Kuwat in his remarks.
The program began with an overview of the PKR program delivered by Prof. Dr. Andes Hamuraby Rozak, Head of the Research Organization for Life and Environmental Sciences at BRIN. In his presentation, he outlined the background and direction of the PKR program currently being prepared.
The event continued with presentations from the three collaborating partners. The first presentation was delivered by Prof. Dra. Wega Trisunaryanti, M.S., Ph.D. Eng., Head of the Nyamplung Biofuel PKR Team from BRIN and UGM. This was followed by a presentation from Ir. H. Nursyamsu Mahyuddin, M.Si., President Director of PT DaFa Teknoagro Mandiri. The subsequent presentation was delivered by Dr. Eko Fajar Nurprasetyo, M.Eng., President Director of PT ABE Indonesia Berjaya.
The event concluded with the signing of the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the collaboration among the three partners, followed by a discussion on the program’s implementation plans. The coordination among the partners and the signing of the ToR by FMIPA UGM also contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through sustained research collaboration with industry partners.
