Short School of Quantum Physics Concludes with Evaluation and Strengthens Collaboration
The Short School of Quantum Physics, organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), reached its conclusion on Friday, July 31, 2026. The closing ceremony was held in person at the RJMT Soehakso Auditorium, FMIPA UGM, beginning at 8:30 a.m. local time.
The closing session began with a review of the program activities conducted throughout the Short School of Quantum Physics, presented by Dr. Eddwi Hesky Hasdeo, S.Si., M.Sc., and Dr. Mohammad Hamzah Fauzi Brindari from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Participants then completed a final test and evaluation as part of the assessment of learning outcomes achieved throughout the program.
During the reflections and feedback session, two participants represented the group in sharing their experiences. The first was Jessy Jayne Miranda from the Philippines. The second was Yovan Fabiano Maitlen, a high school student from SMAS Katolik St. Albertus Malang, also known as SMA Dempo. Yovan also contributed a research poster developed in collaboration with BRIN to the Short School of Quantum Physics.
Dr. rer. nat. Ir. Herlan Darmawan, S.Si., M.Sc., Secretary of the Department of Physics at FMIPA UGM, also delivered closing remarks to conclude the Short School of Quantum Physics. The program officially came to an end with the presentation of a commemorative gift from FMIPA UGM to BRIN as a token of appreciation for their collaboration.
The Short School of Quantum Physics contributed to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by providing an opportunity to review the materials covered throughout the program. It also supported SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and research organizations, creating opportunities for future academic and research partnerships.
