2026 Summer School Series at the Department of Mathematics, FMIPA UGM, Focuses on Statistical Analysis and Cryptocurrency

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) continued the Summer School 2026 program organized by the Department of Mathematics on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The program began at 8:30 a.m. local time and was held in person at the RJMT Soehakso Auditorium, FMIPA UGM.

The Department of Mathematics’ Summer School 2026 on July 21 featured two speakers from overseas universities. The first session was led by Dr. Zhu Tianming from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, who continued the previous day’s discussion on statistical inference for multivariate functional data. The second and third sessions were delivered by Prof. Kim Jai-Hoon from Ajou University, South Korea, focusing on blockchain and cryptocurrency.

The program concluded with participant presentations. Two participants took turns presenting their individual research projects, which they had worked on throughout the Summer School.

The Summer School 2026 organized by the Department of Mathematics reflects FMIPA UGM’s contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by providing participants with learning opportunities led by expert speakers and strengthening their understanding of the topics discussed. The program also supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening FMIPA UGM’s relationships with overseas universities and expanding connections among participants.
