FMIPA UGM Takes Part in the Digital Transformation of DPD RI
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM), has contributed to strengthening digital transformation within the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI). This contribution was realized through the involvement of Dr. rer. nat. Wiwit Suryanto, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Dean for Research and Community Service at FMIPA UGM, as a speaker at the Finalization and User Acceptance Test (UAT) event for the Session, Member, DPD RI Portal, and Regional Public Aspiration Publication (ASMASDA) applications, organized by the Secretariat General of DPD RI in Yogyakarta.
The event carried the theme “Public Sector Digital Transformation: Strengthening Information System Governance and Technological Innovation to Support Digital Government (PEMDI).” Through this initiative, the development of DPD RI’s information systems aims to address the needs of public governance that can leverage technology effectively. The User Acceptance Test phase serves as a vital step to ensure that the developed systems function according to user requirements prior to broader implementation.
FMIPA UGM’s engagement with DPD RI reflects higher education’s contribution to fostering technology development aligned with public needs and governance. This effort aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Through collaboration between universities and state institutions, scientific and technological advancements can be directed to build adaptive public institutions while generating broader societal impact.
