Vision and Mission

Vision
In 2037, the goal is for the faculty to become a nationally outstanding and internationally renowned institution that develops mathematics, physics, chemistry, as well as computer science and electronics for the prosperity of the nation, driven by the cultural values of the nation based on Pancasila.

Mission
Developing internationally recognized education in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, as well as computer science and electronics, by leveraging the maximum potential of research outcomes.
Conducting excellent, innovative, and targeted research in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, as well as computer science and electronics, for the welfare of the nation in particular, and humanity in general.
Engaging in community service by utilizing research outcomes in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, as well as computer science and electronics, to address national and human issues.
Developing sustainable resources, organization and governance, and supporting facilities.

Strategic Plan
The goal to be achieved is the realization of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UGM as part of Gadjah Mada University and to become an excellent faculty in Indonesia with international achievements and reputation through:
Excellent and innovative education in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, as well as Computer Science and Electronics, which is internationally recognized and interdisciplinary in nature. It emphasizes innovative teaching methods, soft skills development, and is supported by state-of-the-art information technology. The postgraduate programs serve as the backbone in producing graduates who are healthy, ethical, confident, competitive, innovative, entrepreneurial, and responsible towards the nation and country.
Excellent, innovative, and focused research in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, as well as Computer Science and Electronics. This research is conducted with environmental awareness, serves as a national and international reference, and provides solutions to national and global issues. It is based on the excellence of human resources, natural resources, and local wisdom, while involving stakeholders in accordance with the Faculty’s research plan.
Excellent and innovative community engagement based on expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, as well as Computer Science and Electronics. It involves providing service to the community based on scientific knowledge, appropriate technology, and advocacy in those fields. This service aims to promote community independence and welfare in a sustainable manner by utilizing the campus as a platform for applying technological innovations for the benefit of society. It also involves implementing product development management systems to commercialize research outcomes.
The development of resources, organization, and governance that are fair, transparent, participatory, and accountable to support the effectiveness and efficiency of resource utilization. It is based on an integrated information technology system to support the implementation of adaptive learning processes in the context of Industry 4.0.
