The student activities referred to are those of a curricular nature, and in general, student activities at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UGM can be categorized as follows:
- Activities in the Field of Reasoning.
- Activities in the Field of Interests/Talents.
- Activities in the Field of Welfare.
SEMA, BEM, KM, and all HIMAPRODI are required to prepare a student activity plan at the beginning of the fiscal year for one year, from July to June of the following year.
Activities in the Field of Reasoning include:
- Institutional Research.
- Academic Seminars.
- Innovative Product Creation Competitions.
- Main Knowledge Work Competitions.
- Student Technology Innovation Competitions.
- Essay Competitions.
- Math, Physics, Chemistry Quiz Competitions among High School Students.
- Selection/Appointment of Outstanding Students.
- Selection of Department Student Family Executives.
- Selection of Student Representative Council and Student Senate Executives.
- Student Creativity Programs.
- Mathematics and Physics Olympiads.
Activities in the Field of Interests/Talents include:
- Art Activities: singing, dancing, music, and martial arts.
- Sports Activities: soccer, badminton, tennis, volleyball, basketball, martial arts, etc.
- Skills Activities: photography and electronics.
- Special Activities: scouting, student regiment (MENWA), nature lovers, etc.
- Other Activities: beyond 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Activities in the Field of Welfare include:
- Student Cooperatives: dormitories/boarding houses, book markets.
- Student Clinics.
- Student Cafeterias.
- Student Magazines: bulletins, wall magazines.
- Scholarships/learning grants.
- Commemoration of national/religious holidays.
- Publication of books/course materials.
Activities in the Field of Reasoning are mainly handled and managed by the Department Student Families and Program Study Student Associations, while Activities in the Field of Interests/Talents and Welfare are organized by the Student Senate with planning patterns prepared by the Student Executive Board.
