The faculty offers support at every level of research proposal submission for all FMIPA academic community members, including initial proposal review, monitoring and evaluation of community service activities, assistance for publication in the form of scientific articles, textbooks, intellectual property rights, and documentary films.

Community service activities at UGM are coordinated by the Directorate of Community Service of UGM and assisted by the Community Service and Research units in the faculties/graduate schools/specialized units/study centers/field laboratories, as well as other supporting units within UGM. Community service and empowerment programs have become an integral part of UGM.
UGM actively and continuously participates in facilitating community empowerment programs that directly impact the community through the Village Development Program (community empowerment in villages). This program is intended to assist communities in resolving their issues through a multi-sectoral approach.
UGM (Gadjah Mada University) has been developing community empowerment programs based on the application of Appropriate Technology that prioritizes science, technology, arts, and culture. Issues in the community are selected as program topics and addressed collaboratively by UGM’s team and the target groups.
